About Our School
Dookie Primary School is situated in the township of Dookie midway between Benalla and Shepparton, in a rich agricultural area. The School serves the township as well as Cosgrove and Yabba North regional areas. Dookie Primary School is staffed by a teaching principal, one full time teacher, one part time teacher and one business manager. Currently, Dookie Primary School educates 13 full time students.
We also have a very active parents forum and fund raising committee. These groups are run by volunteer parents and are always open to new ideas and new participants to join these groups. The focus of both of these groups is to assist the school in providing a better education and range of experiences for the children.
Learning
Being a Student at Dookie Primary School
We strive to continually promote and improve student learning in literacy and mathematics. Dookie Primary School aims to foster socially well balanced students who perform to the best of their ability in their academic studies in a friendly, safe and caring rural environment.
Leadership
Fostering Leadership In Young Students
Leadership is developed through our Junior School Council (JSC), where students are elected for experience in these roles. Students foster leadership skills from opportunities to exercise their vision and creativity, empathy, risk taking, team building and management. These include JSC organised fund raising events, running the school assembly and being available to all students in a caring and mentoring role.
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
(STEM)
Dookie Primary School’s STEM program enables students to use science, technology, engineering and mathematics to problem solve, create, and explore while learning. Dookie Primary School encourages curiosity through excursions and incursions focusing on STEM.
